The MWALLT 2011 conference will be held at Drake University on October 21 – 22. The conference theme is “Will it Blend? Learning in the 21st century” Instructors, graduates students, and center administrators are encouraged to submit proposals. This is a broad topic that can encompass areas of interest.
Many of the language classes offered to students today have little or no resemblance to the type of instruction offered only a few years ago. Social Media, web 2.0, multimedia, mobile devices, and virtual communication tools have dramatically altered the landscape of the classroom. These new blended learning realities are at the same time exciting and challenging. We would like to hear about your experiences with blended learning instruction. If you are currently offering blended learning instruction, are using blended environments in class, have to support blended environments or simply have something useful to present, we would like you to submit these for consideration.
There will be two types of presentations possible.
Presentation Session (45 minutes Lecture/ Demonstration)
Hands-on Session (45 minute computer lab format)
There are two ways to attend MWALLT 2011. One is by attending in person and the other is by attending virtually. We will be broadcasting the presentations using Adobe connect. This is also how web attendees will participate in the discussions.
